Congratulations to Matthew Newman and Grace Saba on being recognized by the university with Faculty Year-End Excellence Awards, which honor outstanding members of the Rutgers community selected by their colleagues for exceptional contributions to teaching, research, or public service through a program of seven awards. For each award, the recipient receives a commemorative certificate and an honorarium.
Matthew Newman, department head, 4-H Youth Development, Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Monmouth County, who was recognized with the Presidential Fellowship for Teaching Excellence. The award honors newly-promoted and tenured (as of July 1, 2023) faculty members who have made truly outstanding contributions to teaching during their early years at Rutgers.
Grace K. Saba, associate professor in the Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences, was recognized with the Faculty Scholar-Teacher Award, which honors tenured faculty members who have made outstanding synergistic contributions in research and teaching. In addition, it recognizes those who make visible the vital link between teaching and scholarship by contributing to the scholarship of teaching and by bringing together scholarly and classroom activities.
