Please welcome Melissa Bright to her new role as County 4-H Agent in Somerset County, effective May 1, 2023.
Melissa has served as a site director for the YMCA of Hunterdon and Bucks Counties leading a school age childcare program since 2018. For the past year, she served as the 4-H Animal Science Program Coordinator in Somerset County in a part-time capacity. Melissa was also a 4-H member as a youth.
Her credentials include a master’s of science degree in Agribusiness Management and a bachelor’s of science degree in Dairy Science, both from Delaware Valley University.
Melissa’s programming efforts will focus on 4-H agri-science with a concentration in dairy and livestock. In partnership with Lisa Rothenburger, the other Somerset County 4-H agent, Melissa will be overseeing the Somerset County 4-H program, including club management and volunteer recruitment and development. She will also provide leadership to the statewide 4-H dairy program.
Melissa’s previous professional and personal experiences will be tremendous assets as she begins her faculty role within the 4-H Department.
