Paul Gottlieb, associate professor and chair of the Department of Agricultural and Food Resource Economics, was one of ten “thought leaders” who presented his ideas to 330 delegates at the “Remaking Cities Congress” sponsored by Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburg, PA, October 15 -18. Delegates to this working congress are national and international academics as well as leaders of think tanks, foundations, and federal and state agencies, with an interest in urban issues.
At the Galaxy IV meetings of the Joint Council of Extension Professionals held in Pittsburgh, PA, from September 16-20, Extension Specialist in Farm Management Robin Brumfield won the International Service Award from Epsilon Sigma Phi, the National Extension Honorary Society, for her work with Suzanne’s Project in Turkey and Guyana.
Also at the Galaxy IV meetings, Barbara O’Neill, extension specialist in financial resource management, received the 2013 Extension Educator of the Year award from the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. The award recognized Professor O’Neill’s accomplishments during a 35-year career with Rutgers Cooperative Extension, which includes 26 years as an Extension educator in Sussex County and nine years as a campus-based specialist.
