Professor John Worobey, Department of Nutritional Sciences, was elected Chair of the WIC Advisory Committee for the State of New Jersey. WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children that provides Federal support for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and their infants and children up to age 5 who are found to be at nutritional risk. Worobey’s term of office will begin July 1, 2014.
