Announcement from Laura Lawson, executive dean, SEBS, and executive director, NJAES
Dear SEBS and NJAES community,
I am delighted to share exciting news about new marketing efforts to expand our engagement with students, to generate collaborative interest from stakeholders, and to effectively promote the success of our teaching and research across multimedia platforms. The SEBS/NJAES Office Communications and Marketing will soon transition into the SEBS/NJAES Office of Public Outreach and Communication, and Carl Leikhram will serve as its Senior Director, effective February 13, 2023.
Carl Leikhram has been an innovative source of direction and progress while serving as Assistant Dean of Recruitment and Advising in the SEBS Office of Academic Programs. In his first month working at the school, he developed the SEBS advertisement seen in the Rutgers visitor center magazine by thousands of guests. He revamped the engagement and communications campaigns for prospective students that led to record-breaking event turnouts. As we all know, marketing materials get outdated quickly, so when Carl realized our existing recruitment/welcome video needed an upgrade, he creatively edited it and provided new narration to motivate students and show them that SEBS is the place they want to be. His background in recruitment, student advising, and marketing prepare him to hit the ground running in his new role as Senior Director.
The Office of Public Outreach and Communication will focus on current and emerging trends in integrated marketing communications in higher education by embracing inclusive outreach, comprehensive social media analytics, and a new vision for our virtual and in-person presence for high priority public events. Our communications team will advance innovative new approaches based in data analytics, collaboration, and creativity. Much more news about this transition will be shared as Carl assumes his new role.
I am delighted that Carl has joined our leadership team as Senior Director during this exciting time of innovation and collaboration.
Carl’s office will be located in Martin Hall, room 113. Please join me in welcoming Carl in his new role!
