The Rutgers University Recreation Activities Crew is sponsoring the 21st Annual “Special Friends Day” on March 10, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cook/Douglass Recreation Center. Approximately 100 children with developmental disabilities were invited to join this event for a fun-filled day of sports, games, arts and crafts, and swimming. Each child is paired with two Rutgers students as they participate in numerous activities sponsored by over 30 student clubs and organizations. “Special Friends Day” brings smiles to the faces of many children and is a rewarding and enriching experience for the Rutgers students who participate. This year’s theme is “Ancient Civilizations.” Students and campus organizations that wish to be involved should contact Associate Director of Recreation Paul Fischbach at fischbach@aesop.rutgers.edu.
