A team of researchers at Rutgers University may have finally cracked the code to explain why some hurricanes weaken just before landfall… “This is a missing piece required to close the intensity gap for landfalling mid-Atlantic hurricanes in summer,” Greg Seroka, a co-author of the study and a doctoral candidate in Rutgers’ Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences, told Rutgers Today.
