Dear SEBS and NJAES community,
It is my great pleasure to share the news that Mazen Shehat will soon join our administration as the new Senior Associate Dean of Finance and Administration. His first day is December 5.
The Sr. Associate Dean of Finance and Administration serves as chief operating officer for SEBs and NJAES. This position is responsible for the organization, direction, and management of all administrative and business offices that support the School and Experiment Station, including finance administration, budget and planning, human resources, facilities operations and planning, and information technology for instructional and research support. The Sr. Associate Dean is a vital member of the executive leadership team.
Mazen comes to us with deep knowledge of Rutgers financial systems and operations arising from his extensive experience at both Rutgers central and unit levels. Since 2020, Mazen has served as Sr. Director of Finance and Administration at the Rutgers School of Engineering, providing budgetary, accounting, and fiscal support. Prior to that, he served in the plant funds unit of the Rutgers controller’s office, first as accounting manager and then as senior manager, since 2003. He holds a BS in Accounting from Montclair State and a MPA from the Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration.
