David E. Anderson, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Trenton and Mercer County, was recently recognized by the New Jersey Association of 4-H Agents with the Friend of 4-H Award for his support of the 4-H program.
This award, which is presented annually, recognizes an individual or a group for outstanding technical, financial or organizational support of the 4-H Youth Development Program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension.
Under the leadership of Anderson, the Boys and Girls Club of Trenton and Mercer County has partnered with Mercer County 4-H to expand the opportunities available to youth enrolled in Trenton afterschool and summer programs. This partnership, which was established in 2007, has led to numerous grants and programming efforts.
Anderson is a skilled leader who understands the value that can be found in partnerships. Over the past six years, he has directed a great deal of financial and in-kind support to 4-H to enhance offerings for youth at afterschool and summer sites throughout Trenton.
