Ecologists at Rutgers University have been analyzing the damage Superstorm Sandy inflicted on the school’s ecological preserve for months. This week, they got some help from high-school students eager to see the real-world applications of the science they learn in the classroom. The 4-H Summer Science Program for urban youth brought 60 students from Passaic, Paterson, Atlantic City, Elizabeth, Newark, New Brunswick, Trenton, Asbury Park and Keansburg to Rutgers’ School of Environmental and Biological Sciences this week. The program was sponsored by Samsung, whose North America headquarters are in Ridgefield Park.
