The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Somerset and Hunterdon counties invite the public to visit their tent at the Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fair opening on Wednesday, Aug. 21, to Sunday, Aug. 25. This year, the focus will be on the Native Bees of New Jersey. Native Bees are North America’s most important group of pollinators. In addition to their beauty, they facilitate reproduction and improve seed set for half of New Jersey and Pennsylvania’s top fruit and vegetable production…The Rutgers Master Gardeners will provide Rutgers Fact sheets explaining the importance of integrated pest management and lists describing the best native plants for home gardeners. The Rutgers Master Gardener Helpline volunteers will also be on site for personal assistance to fair attendees.
