A group of around 50 “cream of the crop” farmers, those given the designation Master Farmer, will see a sampling of agri-business in Hunterdon and Morris counties Saturday during the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Master Farmer Tour. It will include the Rutgers’ Snyder Research and Extension Farm, the Blew Farm and Deo Volente Farms in Franklin Township; Readington River buffalo farm in Readington Township and Alstede Farms in Chester. The Mid-Atlantic Master Farmer award is co-sponsored by American Agriculturist magazine and Cooperative Extension of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. More than 650 people have earned the title since the program started in 1927.
